Default Are the point guards destroying Brown's offense?

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/8...l-the-triangle

Hadarii Jones saw this coming, we hadn't a prayer of success running the offense with Fish and Blake.......interesting read.

It's a bit counter to the blame I have placed on Brown......but only fair that I post it. I still have to wonder who is pulling the stupidity strings to keep starting and giving big minutes to the useless D-Fish.......it's embarassing!!!!!!!!!!

His minutes per game is down to around 20 mpg the last 5 games and Mike Brown has come out to say his minutes will drop.

Quote:
Fisher played just 25 minutes Friday night against Phoenix, but that was after only playing 19 minutes in each of their two previous games. According to Mike Bresnahan of the L.A. Times, coach Mike Brown has already talked to Fisher about the possibility of his playing time decreasing this season.

“Yeah, I talked to him,” Brown said Friday. “Before Steve Blake got hurt, [Blake] was finishing games for us. I just felt that’s the direction that I needed to go with this team.”

I think we all kind of saw this coming to a certain extent though. We all knew the triangle didn't require a traditional PG in the sense that with the triangle the system is what creates the shots for players. In a more traditional NBA system it's the PG that creates shots for others. Fish has really never been that type of guy and Blake hasn't really either. It really makes you see why the Lakers tried to go after Chris Paul before the season started. The Lakers will eventually have a new starting PG, I think we're all sure of that. It's just do they make a deal by this trade deadline or not....

Is Blake really a bad option at point though? I think if he starts, rather than is given starter minutes, he would contribute a lot more. His shooting is tremendous in this traditional offense, and his quickness is a great improvement over Fisher and his "stand around wait for the open shot" style.

Anyways its good to know that Fisher will be relieved of his duties a bit sooner than I thought rather than later. Fisher still needs to be on this team, there's no doubt about that.

I don't know if everyone looks at him as a bad option. I like him coming off the bench. I just don't see him as the type who is going to lead a team to a championship, especially when you think about the PG's that he'll have to face to get through the West in CP3 and Westbrook (or even Tony Parker).
