Default Clark shows versatility in victory

Quote:
Before the Suns and Los Angeles Clippers closed the NBA Summer League on Sunday night, this year's No. 1 overall NBA draft pick, Clippers forward Blake Griffin, accepted the 10-day league's Most Outstanding Player Award at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

The Suns' top pick, 14th overall selection Earl Clark, did nothing to cast doubt on the merit of Griffin's selection for the award, but he again showed why the Suns chose him - for his defensive versatility. Clark took the challenge against Griffin's power and helped the Suns bounce back from Saturday's 37-point loss to finish 3-2 in league play with an 87-70 win.
Clark guarded wings and big men during a week of play and capped it by taking Griffin, who had shot 53 percent in four games to average 20.0 points and 11.5 rebounds. Griffin scored 16 points in 35 minutes on 6-of-16 shooting, mostly against Clark, who scored 16 on 5-of-13 shooting.

Suns guard Goran Dragic had a team-high 21 points, closing the week strong after struggling until the fourth quarter of Friday's game. He made 7 of 9 shots Sunday, looking aggressive in transition and setting up Robin Lopez (13 points, four rebounds, four steals) in the halfcourt game.

Griffin's brother, Suns second-round pick Taylor Griffin, made 1 of 6 shots to close the week 10 for 32.

It's about time the Suns got themselves a good draft pick and kept him! Clark can do a lot of things very well, and will be a good guy to bring in rotationally. He is more defensive-minded then a lot of the Suns players, and will help bring some toughness to the defensive end, something the Suns lack a great deal. Dragic isn't half-bad either. He is shaping up to be pretty solid, and could be very very good in the future.

Check out this blog I found. Hilarious NBA stuff, and a great piece on every Suns fans' fav 5, Time Duncan! Definitely worth a laugh or two.
