I've never been a fan of Gibson to be honest. His joke-joke mentality with LeBron when he came back to Cleveland for the first time and the fact he's a SG that almost exclusively spots up and can dribble to the basket a little bit in a point guard's body.

I was a fan his rookie year. Then it appeared his career fell off a cliff.
But Danny Green showed nothing while in Cleveland. It was really the Spurs system that made him the player he now is.

Part system, part Danny putting in more work. Spurs cut Danny before, right?
There was an article not long ago about Danny not being aggressive and consistent enough as the reasons for getting cut a few times. UNC coach Roy Williams and Pop are real tight and they ended up getting in touch with each other about Danny. Roy got on Danny, Danny put in more work, and clearly the results showed this season.
I think he would be a solid contributor on most teams. Spurs system helps, though, not denying that.

I remember thinking months back that if he asks a red cent over 4-mil a year, he can take a hike. I thought his crappy WCF performance would lower his price, but I guess not.
I would have preferred 3 years 9-10 million, but if he can keep his production up into the Playoffs, I'm good with that. Got to have roleplayers that perform in the Playoffs though. Got to.
