Rumors are just rumors, but this one does have some merit. Cuban has said that he will listen to offers regarding Kobe Bryant. The Mavs' success have been limited thus far, especially getting ousted by the Warriors in the first round of the playoffs. The only way I see Cuban and Kupchak making a trade is to at least get each other's best players. Afterall, Cuban is getting the best player of this era in his prime.
Dallas sends Nowitzki, Terry, and Ager to LA for Bryant, Farmar and Brown. This is actually a great trade for both teams. With Dallas so far above the cap, Brown's expiring contract will come in handy next summer. Kupchak gets a young talent in Ager and one of the best PFs in the game in Dirk. Maybe they'll even meet in the playoffs.

I can see why Laker fans would like it. But as a Mavs fan I don't care for it at all. Mavs become worse with that lineup. Why get Kobe if it's not going to make you any better. Plus why would Kobe waive his no trade to go to a team that isn't going to contend, which that one won't. The only thing good about that deal is getting rid of Ager. Kwame's expirer is not near enough incentive in this deal.
I would rather have Dirk than Kobe. I know Kobe is better but the new line-up would suck with Kobe.
i agree, the current line-up works pretty good. Not against Golden State but for most of the other teams. I have my doubts that Kobe with his basketball fits in this system or if he would feel comfartable with the system avery johnson runs.
