Bulls, 76ers and Hawks are the 3 teams that could offer him a massive contract right now, but I don't see any of those teams offering him more than 15-20/year, Mavs could be in play as well actually. Lakers probably let him walk if he gets offered more than 20.

Nobody will sign with the Lakers and they will end up maxing out Randle and IT.

Julius is a good player. The 36 point explosion doesn't define him.

I think the guy is a solid 15 9 player who should focus on playing defense. He's not a star.

He reminds me of Boozer and Blake. In between them you have a solid NBA player as a 3rd-4th option.

Why would they max Randle when his qualifying offer is below 6 mil?

Or just match him in the open market.

There's very little teams with cap space.

How does qualifying offer work? If Lakers offer qualifying offer, can't another team easily beat that since it's so low?

More teams are projected to have cap space in 2019, so you give him the QO and not the extension he wants, odds are, you have him for one more year.

He's a bust. Empty stats. 15 and 8 for a small forward and his team still sucks? Yeah. Bust.

At least get his position right before you make such an ignorant post. And don't forget, Lakers are in final year of rebuild after showing improvement 3 years in a row. Next season begins our playoff runs.

I don't know how you can hate on randle. he has improved every single year and is only 23 years old. Undersized but plays big and aggressive.

The qualifying offer is what essentially makes them a restricted free agent. If another team offers 20M a year or something and Randle accepts, Lakers can match the offer and keep Randle because of the qualifier. Randle would have the final say if he was never offered the qualifying offer, and if he REALLY wants out, he can accept the qualifying offer to stay for 1 more year and then be an unrestricted free agent next year.

It basically assures that the organization gets a good deal for a player. If the best offer Randle receives is 13m/year, the Lakers can match it. If a team offers him the max, the Lakers can choose whether or not they want to match it
