Guards and perimeter players are being overvalued and not just in regard to this list. This era of NBA basketball is probably the weakest era of traditional, dominant big men (minus Shaq and maybe a few others) in the league's history. Yet, still, basketball is a big man's game. There aren't even today more dominant perimeter players than there are big men. So, why have you voters gone to small ball?

I blame one man: Michael Jordan. Jordan was the rare perimeter player who could dominate basketball as well as any big man. He's the exception, though. Big men dominate in basketball.

I vote for Willis Reed.

Well then you would've lost your life because Payton finished third in MVP voting.

Steve Nash WON the MVP 2 years in a row, Peja was an MVP candidate a few years back, are they a top 3 player? Your logic is flawed, because they aren't.

Gary Payton was never a top 3 player of his generation, but that also has to do with the level of talent in the 90's. I do think players like Payton and Pippen are a bit high, but they're not that far off either.

I vote for Willis Reed.
