The great George Mikan was going for a repeat. His defenders were Ed Peterson and Dolph Schayes taking turns trying to contain the legend.

Mikan: 32.2 ppg, 77.9 FT% (Lakers averaged 84.5 ppg)
Peterson: 4.8 ppg, 55.6 FT%; Schayes: 17.3 ppg, 73.3 FT% (Nationals averaged 80.2 ppg)
Mikan completed the repeat and would go on to 3peat in 1952-54, his broken leg injury prevented him fron winning the title in '51. The 5-time champion retired in 1954 and his opposition in the '50 Finals series Dolph Schayes would go on to lead his team to the 1955 NBA Championship.

BTW Dolph Schayes was a Hall of Famer and a member of the NBA's 25th and 50th anniversary team.

He's 81, which means that I, at exactly 100, am only the 2nd oldest person in this board.
(To be honest, I had been under the impression that 100>81, but he's adamant that the opposite is true, so maybe my math is failing me and he's right).
