I've certainly been to parties crazier than that, but I was talking specifically about high school proms, and my high school was predominantly white. One big selling point was the arrivals. The arrivals in the videos were more fun than people showing up in limos and trying to look nice that I remember.

Its called Chalga, officially known as Pop-Folk. Should be a mixture of traditional folklore with modern pop music, unfortunately that type of music has too much of an oriental sound in the past decade thanks to the gypsy and turkish minorities. You can still get hooked up with a drunk prom girl, they are legal (18 yo. mostly 19). Mid to late May is the right time.
