Default Tyson Chandler...everybody's fault but his

Seriously dude? You are taking subliminal shots at guys in the media when your ass got EMBARRASSED by Kevin Garnett and Roy Hibbert in consecutive series. Tyson Chandler is a sorry piece of trash. Until he shows up in the playoffs, he's dead to me. It's one thing to play poorly. Now you're blaming everyone else BUT yourself? When Melo plays poorly, I see him say "I need to play better". I see that out of EVERY Knick except this clown. I couldn't believe my eyes when I read all of these articles. Blaming everyone but yourself. You're going to complain about the offense when you contribute NOTHING on that end. Then you're going to complain about people not doubling and helping you out with Hibbert? Are you serious? EVERY OTHER PACER shot under 50%. They weren't running Hibbert off of screens. The put him on the block and dared our "DPOY" to guard him Mano y Mano...and you know what...He BUSTED YOUR AASSSSSSSS! Man up and stop creating controversy in the playoffs. Where's the leadership in that?

I decided to take a look at Tyson's career playoff numbers as a Knick.
They are even worse than I expected.

5.9 points,7.8 rebounds,1.1 blocks on 55% shooting

We're paying $10+ mil. for that ??? It's even worse when you consider he's played most of the games against poor rebounding teams in Miami and Boston.
When I better think about it the Celtics aren't even a poor rebounding team. They are horrible. THE WORST.
Only thing that you can call good is 55% shooting and even that is disappointing considering all he does is dunk the ball.

And before knickscity tries to include Melo in all of this here are his career playoff numbers as a Knick:

28.1 points,7 rebounds,1.9 assists on 40% shooting (27% for three).

His shooting hasn't been good but he's gone against 3 of the best defensive teams in the league unlike Tyson who has gone against 2 of the worst rebounding teams and still can't average more than 8 rebounds per game despite being 7'1.
Also LeBron had worse numbers against the Knicks last year than against any other team he faced in the playoffs. On the other hand every opposing big has been shitting all over Tyson (Bosh last year,KG and Hibbert this year).

Melo almost single-handedly won game 4 vs Miami last year. He hit clutch shots in games 1 and 6 against Boston.
How many games Tyson won for us ? NONE. He's playing awful for 80% of the time and for the 20% of the time he's mediocre. I'm still waiting for a "DPOY" type performance from him in the playoffs.

At the end of the day we brought Melo here to score. We all knew he's not the most efficient guy. He's been scoring. Not efficiently but he's been scoring and he's won some games for us.

We brought Tyson here to defend and paid him almost as much as Melo. He's been HORRIBLE. He can't defend. He can't rebound. Every opposing big is embarrassing him. Soft bitch Bosh abused him last year. 100 year old KG dominated him in round 1. He makes a mediocre offensive player (and I'm being generous) in Hibbert look like Hakeem out there.

TYSON IS BY FAR THE BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT ON THIS TEAM. HE SUPPOSED TO BE A WINNER WHO'LL HELP YOU WIN GAMES IN THE PLAYOFFS BUT ONLY THING HE DID SO FAR IS LOSE GAMES FOR US. F*CK THIS GUY. I WANT HIM OFF THE TEAM. I'VE SEEN ENOUGH.

Knickscity can post that Melo hating stuff in another thread lol

All I know is, I keep hearing Tyson Chandler is a leader and defensive specialist, but in the playoffs he's been anything but. He's taking subliminal shots at teammates, getting stupid techs, and getting KILLED by Roy Hibbert and Kevin Garnett in consecutive series.

Default Career Coward! Comes up small in the playoffs!

Tyson Chandler Regular Season vs Post Season

Chi 04-05 8pts 9reb 1blk < 11 pts 9 reb 2blk
Chi 05-06 5pts 9reb 1blk > 1pt 4reb 0.3blk
Noh 07-08 11pts 11reb 1blk > 8pts 10reb 1blk
Noh 08-09 8pts 8 reb 1blk > 3pts 5reb 0.2 blk
Cha 09-10 6pts 6 reb 1blk > 3pts 2reb 0.8blk
Dal 10-11 10pts 9reb 1blk > 8pts 9reb 0.9blk
NYK 11-12 11pts 9reb 1blk > 6pts 9reb 1blk
NYK 12-13 10pts 10reb 1blk> 5pts 7reb 1blk

Only ONE season in which his play has gotten better come playoff time. All others, he's gotten significantly WORSE in the post season...including this year. Now let me see yall explain this one.

No one has disputed Tyson isnt playing well. No one has argued that point so obviously something is getting lost in the translation. No one is saying Tyson is worth the money he is getting.
Garnett and Hibbert are better players than Tyson.

NO ONE HAS DEFENDED HIM.

No one here knew Tyson was being added it wasnt a rumor or anything like that. All of sudden Billups was amnestied and Tyson was added.

I see what your saying...and I'm calling them out for being hypocrites. I'm beginning to think it's bigger than basketball. We talk about Melo receiving the lionshare of the blame because he's getting the max. So why does Tyson Chandler get less blame than JR Smith. Chandler makes 7 times what JR makes. JR, as pathetic as he's been, has given us WAY more this post season.

And your statement about "If the best player does his job nobody can blame him" is wrong also. When Melo scored 50 and we won...they complained about him only having 1 assist. When we beat the Clippers and Melo had 42 and 8, they complained about the same thing. It's ridiculous. People aren't mad at Melo because he's not getting the job done. People are mad because he isn't LeBron James. Well guess what? LeBron didn't want to come here...and I'm pretty sure those same people are the reason why.

But as I've said after every season...as fans, we can keep trying it the way we've been trying it. Keep blaming your best players and loving the underachieving role players. If you think you don't have power as a fan base...so be it. I've seen guys get traded based on the fans. So as long as you hype up Jason Kidd "doing the little things" and Jared Jeffries "doing stuff that doesn't show up in the stat sheet" ....that's the type of players we'll have on our roster. While Miami, who has just as much salary on the books as us, fills their roster with guys who can actually play. We can employ continue to give Tyson Chandler 14 million dollars and continue to give Jason Kidd 3.5 and continue to pay Marcus Camby 4 million to warm seats on the sideline. We can continue to pay Novak 4 mill in hopes that he hits a 3.

Then when we lose, we'll go back to blaming whoever our best player is. Rinse and Repeat. I don't get it but whatever. Wake me when it's over. Knickscity knows...we've both been diehard Knicks and Jets fans. I'm tired of drinking the Koolaid though man.

Hey thats on the coach. You dont have plays to call and you want to run ISO crap every possession and the players lack the leadership to say lets move the ball then that's what happens. ISO ball makes everyone stand around. If Melo makes an effort to give the ball up and other players step up then its all good.

There have been times this year and I have stated that Melo would pass the ball to open players but they wouldnt take the shot just for him to get the ball back with a few seconds on the clock.

Question, what would happen if Carmelo Anthony said "when you have guys playing 25 minutes per game and not scoring once in 7 games, or guys getting destroyed by Roy Hibbert, you're never going to win."

Just leave the Hibbert part in because even though I agree, Kidd is too much of a nice guy and too classy to rip apart like that.

I kinda wish Melo would flat out roast Chandler but lets be honest, the team would fall apart and we all know only he would crucified for it being the star and all...

People would kill him. But when Tyson says something like that then it's "leadership".

Leadership would have been damn I've been sucking and I have to show great improvement. I want to feel more involved in the offense through PNR. These statements should be made in the locker room not the media.
