big men. only three played really. bosh, dwight and brand.

bosh seemed to play the most, then brand and then dwight.

we already talked about bosh a lot. he had the best game out of them.

brand missed some easy one, but played agressive and started getting his towards the end.

dwight didn't stand out and also didn't play much in the second half. he didn't play bad though. had another huge block and pulled down some boards.

it's hard to talk about them cause none of them played bad, but only bosh really did anything worth commenting about.

Dirk stunk bad. F*cker missed wide open shots all day and did nothing else.

sweet, thanks for the quick replies guys. glad to see bosh stepping up his intensity level. apparently, his time on the bench was exactly what chris needed to step his game up.

The U.S' problem is they will settle for the three even when their opponents are playing basically a weak zone.....and people keep driving to kick when they have a good shot if they just gather and shoot where they are.

People were just off all over though how many lay-ups did Wade miss?
They were stiff and pressing a lot of the game.

Good thing Dirk was off too. DEcent D but he was missing his normal clumsy makes.

Really they cuold get the ball to the elbow and penetrate most times but shot jumpers over teh zone like they were tryign to [prove they could hit......they off course didn't prove that at all.

i think the reason soccer is the most popular sport is because it's the most played sport. it's the most played sport because all you need is a ball and field to play it as a child, and the object and rules are pretty simple (except off-sides which you learn later). you don't need a hoop and surface you can dribble on. you don't need gloves and a bat. you don't need an ice rink and bunch of pads and skates and goals. growing up in my neighborhood is was soccer until our hands were big enough to really throw footballs and then when we were old enough (tough enough), basketball, but you had to earn your way onto the courts. not a knock on soccer, just an explanation for why it has dominated other sports for so long.

why do poor kids in puerto rico play baseball then?

good call dejordan.

anyways the reason why some people are good at soccer is cus the crowd isnt surfaced and they learn to control the ball better. maybe that might be the same for bball.

Default Football

futbol has always been international...basketball baseball and Hockey had to be exported from North America to teh rest of the world and Baseball and American Football already have established sports that are similiar internationally Cricket and Rugby....

So obviously those sports aren't gonna take off internationally

SOccer is older and in cases like in African countries it's earier to play Football tha anything else but the economics aren't that big of an issue...infact you could say economic oringinally got inner city ****** into Basketball...

to his performance

Melo not so great.
Shot terrible in the first half, Nothing special in the second.
He did however, score 7 stright points to give the US the momentum they needed to start the first half.

But the real issue here is Team US as a whole. They shot way too many 3's, no one shot at all well anyway, with the exception of brand bosh and howard (but i think giving them more shots would be a mistake, sure their % is higher but thats cos the limited attempt they take are the rare shots in good position.)

To summarize, the performances against germany of the Forementioned is as follows:

Lebron>Melo = Team US

You do realize Lebron had 7 turnovers as a Small forward. 7 TURNOVERS, that is horrible

sheesh..nah i didnt realise that, and i only saw a couple of TO's by melo.

i didnt think lebron was a whole lot better than melo this game. but i did think he was a bit better.

But 7 TO's brings him down a lot.

the box score doesn't really do justice.

it's international ball, they did as good as they can. They outrebounded the opposition and did well on putbacks. Bosh hit a 3 (!). Theres is no post game in int'l ball so its not like they handle the ball much.
