Default Marcus Douthit to Sign with Lakers

Looks like they will give him another look at Training Camp or that they just need a body to bang against for Kwame/Mihm.

Marcus Douthit I been wanting to ask about him he was in the Summer league with a different team and I thought we lost him. He can rebound and block shots but his scoring is a mystery to me. The Laker's send him out to I think a New England team and I followed his progress he show some talent.
He was apposed to play in LA last year but I think he had some legal problems.
He's like 6' 10 and could make the team.

I believe this is the last year that the Lakers retain the rights to him, so perhaps this contract signing has an impact on that. I saw him at the SPL, and he was mediocre. Big body, defensively oriented for sure. Potential is there.

I would be suprised if he made the team to be honest. He's a notch lower than JR Pinnock from a talent perspective, and I don't see JR making the team either.

Just my two cents.

I've always liked Marcus Douthit he has some mad hops an athletic big who can play above the rim and unfortunately for him Lakers are already loaded with bigs with Marcus being just another body to throw around at training camp.Though with his athletic ability he's bound to make a NBA roster sooner than later just not w/the Lakers unless we can trade Mihm & Cook for a quality PG before the start of the season and I don't think that's happening w/our roster being pretty much set.

We wanted a rebounding and hustling PF.

We have ronny but maybe douthit can do it also.

No offense please, but I put Turiaf much much higher on the talent ladder than Douthit.
