Spurs set to play Blazers in West semifinals
San Antonio advanced to the Western Conference semifinals by routing the Dallas Mavericks, 119-96, on Sunday during Game 7 of their first-round series. The Spurs led for all but 56 seconds of the blowout victory as Parker (32 points) and sixth man Manu Ginobili (20 points, five assists, six steals) steadied a prolific offense that shot 57 percent from the field, made 10 three-pointers and scored 68 first-half points.
San Antonio, which earned the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference and finished with the NBAs best regular season record (62-20), has won at least 50 games an NBA-record 15 consecutive seasons.
In the midst of one of the most successful runs in NBA history, the Spurs have reached the playoffs 34 times in the last 38 seasons, including 17 in a row the longest active streak in the NBA and tied for the fifth-longest in league history. Only the Los Angeles Lakers have more postseason appearances (35) since 1976.
