Default Krstic is expecting to remain a net.

Krstic Happy to be a Net...and Hopes It Continues
In an interview with Blic, a Serbian newspaper, Nenad Krstic talks of knees and contracts and love. In the interview, conducted in Serbian and translated on RealGM's message board, the Net 7-footer says that his knee feels fine, that he is practicing and that he hopes to remain a Net, adding that money will not be as important as playing for a winner and with teammates respects, including Jason Kidd, who he refers to as a "sports idol".

Damn it, trade Collins away or release him in order that Krstic will receive a bigger contract that gratifies him to stay next year!

because Krstic is on the Nets when he becomes a free agent, the Nets can offer him any amount, even the maximum and go over the salary cap and the luxury tax threshold if they wish (but why?)

they don't have to dump Collins' salary (thought it would be nice) in order to pay Krstic

Of course I know that we can offer him as huge contract as possible, but how will Ratner think? We could've kept Martin if Ratner was willing to give him a better contract.

yes... Nets could have... but in retrospect everything worked out for the best (see Martin's double microfracture surgery)

How much do you think we will offer Krstic when his contract expires

between 7-8 million 6 years

however other teams can offer more during his RFA status, so Krstic is going to need to play for the qualifying offer before he can be a UFA
