Default Sports betting

How much money have you guys made on betting on sports?

I'm a relative newbie to sports betting, or at least when I wanted to try it I wasn't old enough, but the last few days I've been doing a small amount of in-play betting, and I've made a pretty tidy amount so far.

So far I've only been betting small on things I have a decent amount of knowledge on, and I have no intention of betting huge amounts anytime soon. But I've still made a decent profit. Is this too good to be true? Or is it just a case of picking and choosing your bets carefully?

Again, I'm not making a habit of this, just a few bets so far and I've had pretty good success, I don't need the gambling is a mugs game speech. I've always been tight with my money, and have never done anything stupid with my money.

Just a bit concerned that I'm finding this a bit too easy so far. I'm waiting for a catch, but I don't know what it is.

The catch is it won't last forever and you will lose some money eventually. Just be smart about it and don't get addicted. Have a separate account for it that you will never add money into. You can only spend money in that account.

Im really not a big gambler, and I was losing money for couple of years, but for the last couple of months finally started winning. Its only a hobby and I mostly bet on the games I watch just to make it more interesting. In about 4 years before this 2-3 months I lost about 200-300$ , but it wasnt my money cause I won it from one casino site that used to give 10$ bets on roulette every weekend I won from there and couple other sites about 700$. But these months I won about 150$ . Most of my bets are about 3-5$, so its just a game. I know that in the end I will probably end up losing this money

Yeah, I've not made a bet over £6 so far and don't really intend to, but since Friday I've made about £150. It's not life-changing money, but it's still £150 more than I would have if I didn't have a bet.

I just need to keep a clear head at all times I think, only make a certain amount of bets a week and stick to that promise, and resist the urges to add a bit more money.

It's not so much beating the system, it's not allowing the system to consume you. There is a reason they make betting so easy!

One other thing, I've only bet on Basketball games so far. NBA, Europe, and other random ones too. Being a Basketball junkie I like to think I have a good understanding of when teams are likely to make a run, or how a certain matchup should go etc etc. Couldn't stress enough to people to just bet on what you know, or at least what you think you know.

It all depends on you. If you have restraint then sports betting is good fun and can potentially win you a bunch of money. If you can't say no then get out now and don't look back. If I go on a losing stretch I wont let myself bet for 2-3 weeks and forget about it so I don't lose too much money. My mate on the other hand can't say no and has lost thousands of dollars.

It is great to make games more interesting and its awesome when you are bored, you can bet on a game and kill a couple of hours rooting for your team. It has its downside as well though obviously. I bet on the Bucks yesterday, thought I was going to win a bunch of money and then Horford hit that shot.

I tired it for a little while betting small amounts on UFC/Boxing, I find it kinda ruined watching it for me, cause it was more about me wanting the person to win rather than sitting back and enjoying the fight and anaylzing what happend and who was winning, it also made me a lot more bias. I like the whole sports betting idea but it just was not for me in the end I just prefer watching sport for what it is, watching people do amazing stuff with there natural talents.

i hit a 7 team parlay in the nba once before. bet 10 dollars to win 1800. i also almost hit an 8 team for 2600 but i think it was the clippers that blew that one for me.

put up like 50 bucks on a 10 team parlay, came very close. 2 losing games, 1 game was really close 1 game was the clippers not even close to covering.

edit, the 50 buck 10 team parlay was for 22,000

Dont bet every night. Only bet on the games you actually like. A few of my friends have a serious addiction and will bet on anything to try to win some money back. (Ex: They beat on Korean Basketball the other night). Dont chase.

No. They bet on Korean Ball because it was 3 am here and they were literally betting on anything. They know absolutely nothing about the Korean League.

I could discuss this topic for quite a while. I started sports betting almost 20 years ago and never stopped. For a long time my friend and I ran our own house for football, both college and pro, and some college basketball.

I've had two consecutive really successful NFL playoff runs. And I've got an affection for futures and hedging against them.

use to be addicted

all games in my province are at least 2 game parlays

the game where the 08 celtics played the rockets when the rockets were on the 22 game winning streak, the odds for the Cs were 3.3:1, so I parlayed it with the Suns Portland game. Made like 6000. If it was a one game requirement, I would be so much richer =(

these days I bet less than 200 tops for 2 game parlays and less than 50 for 3 game parlays but I do it very infrequently

used to bet on football often. won a g on a the super bowl a couple times, but overall i'm down (didnt play this season). much like gambling in general, most people lose.. it does make the games a lot more interesting but it kinda takes away the innocence of cheering for teams because u just end up cheering for whoever's gonna make u money. it also makes watching games "for fun" less entertaining.
