I disagree, Kapono should get more minutes. Sam just has to know when to use him, and using him on the second unit with Bargnani, Calderon and Parker is just bad coaching.

The number of minutes Kapono plays needs to increase, but, Sam has to know how to use him. It's not Kapono's fault Sam had him guarding Magette without JO and Bosh in to help on defense. I see Kapono as the starter, and Moon on the second unit.

Kapono is for the second year in a row the best three point shooter in the NBA. Yes there are areas of his game that are deficient, but if he's used properly, with the right line up he's deadly. And I think he was a good pick, we just haven't seen Sam figure out how to use him.

Defensively KP does show some improvement comparing last year to the first 2 game and he's probably learn a lot practicing with AP.

The hand checks were great last night and someone in the coaching staff is doing a really good job teach the guys in 1 on 1 defence. If u guys didn't watch the game entirely last night, AB was playing good 1on1 defence when he had Stephen jackson on him and jackson doesnt' know rather he should drive or shoot because AB's D was great and Jackson tap him on the chest afterwards saying amazing D big guy and he shown that all night last night so whoever is the defensive coordinator on the raptors this year, kodos to him!

Mitchell is no great coach but that is much easier said that done. It's no shock why Kapono had that one good year in Miami where he played bigger minutes. Shaq, Wade, Riley.

The Raptors don't anyone with the inside presence of Shaq.
The Raptors don't have anyone who is as good of a playmaker as Wade.
Sam Mitchell is no Pat Riley.

So yes, in the absolutely perfect system Jason Kapono can be an effective player and give you 25 minutes per game despite his shortcomings. That system is not an easy thing to get though.
