Nets to resign Kris Humphries to 1 year Deal

Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Nets are about to sign Kris Humphries to a one-year deal. The deal is so close (and apparently he is too) that he may be ready for Wednesday's final preseason game vs. the Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

According to reports, Humphries will re-sign for between $7 million and $8 million for the year.

Humphries, whose 72-day marriage to Kim Kardashian provided grist for tabloids and gossip sites, had his best year with the Nets, averaging 10.0 points and 10.4 rebounds, finishing fifth in the Most Improved Player balloting. Humphries would fill the Nets glaring need for a power forward.

to me it just reinforces a simple fact-- that people who don't understand how the media works will always be irritated by the titillating name du jour. and because of that, the media will always be able to make money off such people and other assorted childlike personalities.

meanwhile, someone like lebron james is hated because of what he did in a basketball context.
a BASKETBALL context, which i thought was the whole friggin point....

okay, i shouldn't try to analyse this any further. it starts to get under my skin very quickly.
