if you look at the 2005/06 suns, they won 54 games and reached the wcf without their 2nd best player
the teams he had were never good enough to win a championship but he's still getting a lot of flack for not winning a title

The 2006 WCF run is overrated. The two best teams(Spurs/Mavs) played in the conference semis because the NBA rules, at the time, were retarded regarding team seeding within the same division. Makes no sense for a 56 win team(Suns) to be 2nd seed while a 60 win team(Mavs) is seeded 4th. Otherwise, it would have been another typical second round exit for Phoenix.

Even a second round exit wouldn't have been that bad in a tough wc
Pops Spurs got eliminated in the first round last year and they were a 60+ win team, same with dirks mavs a few years ago
They won 50 games or more for 4 straight seasons that's not something that can be overlooked
He wasn't very successful in NY but that wasn't entirely his fault, and the hate he's receiving because of his time there is ridiculous

Considering the only thing Suns front office did was to make the team worse and worse each year since 2004-2005 season, Id say he overachieved.

Underachieved. Nash Marion amare was a nasty core. If he would have just preached a little bit of defense then they could have done more. But they did get screwed that one year. They probably would have won it all if amare didn't get suspended.
