    Time flies.

I remember some talk about how Bogans was looking better than some of the stars.

And Bo Outlaw used to bring in groups of random guys and murder the summer leagues back when you could just...enter it like a tournament. I think he had a 40 point triple double one year.

And Knick fans were all about Lampe at one point. Him and Michael Sweetney. I remember a long topic on Sweetney vs Bosh with Knicks fans saying they wouldnt trade him for Chris. Per 48 number and all....

    Good times...

Which is exactly why Cleveland should keep Wiggins. Kid has so much potential.

I recall the 2003 Summer Leagues for LBJ getting jammed on by Britton Johnsen (I do not say that to bring about hate, that's just honestly what comes to mind): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEkiq3ZOQws

LONG BEACH - The coronation of Bo Outlaw as ``King of the Summer League'' seemed perfect. At center court of the Pyramid, Outlaw accepted a large trophy after his team, the NBA Pros, won the SPL Championship.

This was where he belonged. While other NBA veterans opt for personal workouts and avoid summer league games, Outlaw is addicted to them. He repeatedly has played at the SPL and Real Run in Carson and is known to play multiple games in a day.

Yet after he accepted his team's trophy and scored a game-high 42 points in the NBA Pros' 144-129 victory over the ABA Surf, he shrugged off the ``King of the Summer League'' title.

``No, no, it's about my teammates,'' Outlaw said. ``I'm just trying to help them out, trying to help them make it to the next level. That's it.''

Outlaw, known as a defensive specialist with the Phoenix Suns, was 16 of 18 from the field, had 15 rebounds, seven assists and seven blocks.

The Pros (7-0), whose starters were mostly former University of Houston players, are the first free-agent team to go undefeated in the Summer Pro League.

Former Laker Cedric Ceballos had 26 points and 13 rebounds for the Surf, who were led by University of Washington standout Mark Sanford's 37 points and 13 rebounds.
He would bring in groups of total scrubs who had to let him do it all.

I think he and Quentel Woods might have had 40 points against each other in one of those.

They don't do it that way now. Much more rigid. You cant just...sign up and bring out some vets and ex globetrotters.

Ricky Davis dropped 8 wanna say 48 in a summer league game. Sometime around this era also.

Here's another clip from another article talking about Outlaw. Pretty much just reiterates what Kblaze's article says.

For Southern California based Clipper fans, there's another reason to love Bo Outlaw. Before we had the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, there was the Summer Pro League at the Pyramid in Long Beach. The SPL was a different animal -- yes, NBA franchises brought teams made up of draft picks and other youngsters, but it was also open to other teams, and it was not unusual to see Baron Davis running in a game with a bunch of guys you'd never heard of. Every year Outlaw would put together a team of K-list free agents and enter it in the SPL -- he became a fixture. The requirement for being on Bo's team seemed to be that you had to agree to let Bo do everything. He brought the ball up the court, he ran the offense, he took the shots, he got the rebounds. Triple doubles with 30 plus points and 20 rebounds were not uncommon. And he was just so much fun to watch -- he was having a grand old time out there. It was fascinating watching a player known throughout his NBA career as making the most of limited abilities through hard work and hustle, showcasing what he could really do in an informal setting. It was Bo saying, "I can do all of this other stuff, but I know that's not my job in the NBA, so I don't."

It is too bad no Bo Outlaw summer clips seem to exist, it sounds as though they'd have been enjoyable.

Man, that feels like a lifetime ago. I remember still rooting for Ceballos to get another contract from his summer league play

I was thinking of this while watching a game....

    They got too ridged.

At least one of these leagues need to open the rules back up so I can see Antione Walker, Jay Williams, Greg Osterteg, Jalen Rose, and Mookie Norris take on a team of scrubs and let Antione drop 62.

Maybe have Kobe team up with Smush Parker, Kwame, Malik rose, Chris Mihm, God Shamgod, and a squad of ISHs best with Mr.Jabbar coaching and letting Kobe take 55 shots.

Id alter my daily schedule to see those games live.
