Default Front runner for MVP right now?

It basically comes down to KD or LeBron...

I give the edge to Bron for this latest streak of impressive games.

I thought Durant had it locked, but it seems to have swung back to LeBron. There seems to be a wide acceptance of him being the best player in the league and it also hurts that OKC has slipped a bit.

LeBron's the better player, so OKC has to really kill it record-wise.

If OKC somehow doesnt seperate themselves from Miami,Lebron is gonna win it.

Also, Lebron has to make certain that the Heat maintain the clear #1 seed in the East. If they finish with the same record as the Knicks with the Knicks owning the tie breaker, Durant is more than likely going to win it.

I would give it to Durant, even though Lebron is the best player in this league. I think whoever finishes with the better record will win it.

If the Knicks finish first in the East then Carmelo will either finish second or maybe even win it, but if that doesn't happen then Durant most likely wins it, LeBron finishes second, and Carmelo third etc.

It's going to KD. It's just like how malone got an MVP because they got tired of giving it to MJ. He's having an MVP season so I see nothing wrong with that

Melo's out of it. Durant and LeBron are clearly heads and tails above everyone else.

    Lebron should win imo.

This ALMOST. I agree that Durant and LeBron have separated themselves, but there's still a lot of basketball to be played. I think if Melo leads the league in scoring (at an at least relatively efficient level) and the Knicks win the East then he replaces LeBron as KD's competition. Kobe could still sneak in there if the Lakers have a crazy turnaround.

If both teams keep going at this pace it will be extremely tight at the end of the season. OKC with a few more wins, LeBron with slightly higher averages across the board...

It will come down to voter preference and possibly voter fatigue.

Also interesting is the recent Spurs resurgence. Without knowing it, the Spurs have actually helped LeBron's MVP case. Durant looks better as an MVP candidate when/if OKC has the best record in the NBA and he's their leader.

However, if OKC still has a better record than Miami but San Antonio is the clear cut leader in the league-wide standings, it sort of diminishes the whole "Best player on the best team" argument for Durant.
