He didn't bump knees. He had what was originally thought to be a hip flexor that could've kept him out anywhere from "a day to six weeks," Weber said, but apparently it's a groin injury and not nearly as potentially severe. He'll likely be ready against Xavier on the 29th.

With the commitment of Wilson, we now have the 7th ranked class in the country according to Scout.com. Also, we are 1st in the Big Ten.
Go Ron Zook!

And the run toward a Top 10 class continues. 6'3", 300 lb. DT Josh Brent (No. 71 overall on Scout.com, No. 80 on Rivals.com) committed to Illinois, to the surprise of absolutely no one.
Now let's get Robert Hughes to put on that Illinois hat at the Army All-American Bowl, get 'em all signed on Feb. 7, and call it one helluva class.

Patronizing sarcasm aside, I'm just happy we're finally getting the athletes you need to even have a chance to compete against the big boys.
A couple more classes like this one and we may be on our way to becoming one of those "big boys." Who knows. USC had fallen into irrelevance and also-ran status in their own city to UCLA before Carroll showed up; Ohio State was just a couple years removed from a 6-6 season before Tressel showed up.
It's funny, when Zook was hired I was kind of on the fence about it. It took a couple of my friends that go to SEC schools- one that goes to LSU, another that went to Auburn- guaranteeing me that Zook would have Illinois in a BCS bowl by the end of the decade to sell me on him.

From what I saw, the refs had a major impact on the game. We had control of the game in the second part of the first half and it looked like we were gona pull away, but they just came out with more energy in the 2nd half and beat us. Jamar Smith was amazing in the last minute though. Wasn't enough, but he was awesome.

Yeah, we should get teh ball to Jamar more...I don't like Warren Carter popping to the three point line. He can hit that shot on a occassion, but I just don't like him doing it. I understand its a motion offense, pick and screen away but he should be posting more or finding better opportunities to Shaun.

Oh yeah, most of the FT's came in the last minute, maybe about 10, but still the refs weren't givin us anything. They called a traveling on Randle that really infuriated me. It should have been a blocking foul on them.
