Kemp was a very good defender and rebounder, 2 things Amare is terrible at. Hell Kemp might have been a top 3 defensive PF at that point in time, and he would probably be the best in today's game assuming KG is considered a C right now.
Kemp was a dumb defender, he was always in foul trouble for a reason.

Kemp was a better rebounder and that was probably it.

Enough with this Nash making Amare BS, what has Nash done of value without STAT? Amare was having a MVP level season playing with Felton 'a fat useless' scrub according to ISH. Discrepancy?

Being that I seen both of them play and I understand basketball, I'll go with Kemp.

In a comparison with prime Amare, you are going choose someone because of their superior athleticism?

Kemp's Seattle teams had a lot more balance on offense with McKey, Payton, and Schrempf. He could have easily been a 25+ppg type scorer if he were in the right situation like Amare was. He was also a very good defender at the PF position. Disregarding mental issues (weight/drugs/etc), Kemp was easily better.

Kemp was better at everything except scoring, and even that wasn't a big gap.

Kemp. He does everything better except scoring and it's not by much. Amare is the worst defender I have ever seen.

looks like everyone jumps on Amare the fire extinguisher fighter, sad Knick. He used to be phenomenal in his days in Phoenix before the knee injuries, with back to back 40 point plus games. He was a beast. No comparison overall to Kemp, but in the short time he was a phenom.

Kemp could NEVER do what Amare did to Duncan in the '05 playoffs. Never.

Prime Amare has more offensive weapons, and would be better suited as the 1st option on a team. That said, Kemp was a better defender, better rebounder, and simply a more tenacious player, so I would choose him.

On a solid defensive squad with no offensive threats? I may have to take Amare.

Put a scrub ass team on his bad back and almost snuck them into the playoffs. Had small mummers that he should be in the MVP voting. Still shooting over 50%, ~90% FT, and 10+ dimes. Oh did you look at the roster he was working with?

GTFO scrub. You don't follow basketball.

In 05', Duncan was out for a month at end of the season due to a very bad ankle sprained and still dumped 27.4pts/13.8reb on Amare. Duncan couldn't move laterally and Amare still couldn't stop him. Know the facts first.
