I always figured Willis wasn't on a team because no team wanted him at 44. It's not like Kevin Willis wouldn't have played an entire season imo.

Exactly. The Mavs approached HIM, not the other way around. What is he supposed to say? "Nah man, I can't play for ya. I don't wanna take a shortcut to the title."

This is no different than an NBA team snatching a NBDL player up near the end of the year and putting him on their playoff roster for spot duty.

I'd love to see Kev play. Too bad he can't play like he did in '91, 5 career 30/30 games.

actually, KW has said he never filed his retirement papers.

I missed the KW talk in the Mavs pregame but I'm am hearing from others that he is a Mav pending his physical and will be available Sunday against the Suns.

OK they just interviewed Avery and he said that Willis has to pass a physical and then he will join the team on Monday for practice in Phoenix.

so its pretty much official now.

This signing is clearly to foul Shaq 6 more times. But I don't know if it would work, the Pistons did the same thing by bringing in Kelvin Cato but still couldn't get it done.

no no, this is b/c the Mavs lost their 3rd string C to injury. Damp and Diop are both foul prone so its essential to get another big to be there just in case.
