Default 6'3, 6'4 is NOT always undersized for a SG

Sick of hearing all these people around here thinking that 6'6" is some kind of standard for shooting guard height. Yes guys like Kobe, Jordan, Vince, T-Mac were all 6'6" shooting guards but they are a more of an exception than the norm. They are tall shooting guards. Not every team in the NBA can have a 6'6" freakishly coordinated and athletic SG.

People on ISH make it sound like a 6'3/6'4 SG is a totally worthless player with "no height". D-Wade and Eric Gordon are 6'3, OJ Mayo 6'4. Tony Allen 6'2 or something. All are great SG's to have especially if you don't have a star swingman.

So stop posting crap about "undersized" shooting guards being worthless in this league.

I haven't heard this sentiment. NBA heights are all bs anyways.

6'4 3/4 without shoes. And we all know NBA height is measured with shoes on. So yeah he's closer to 6'6".

A lot of guys on here automatically dismiss guys like Mayo and Ellis as "too short" for the SG position. That they are somehow non-impact players strictly because of height.

height can definitely be overrated at times. it's that wingspan that can really make a player elite.

I don't know who you've been talking to who said 6'6" is norm height for SGs, but they clearly don't have a clue.

Feel free to ignore them. 6'2" is an undersized SG

NBA.com height is incorrect, he has said he is 6'4 WITH shoes on. I think someone knows their own height.

He's lying. I saw that he was measured at something like 6'4 3/4 with no shoes, pre-draft. He's grown. Kobe is clearly taller than Michael. Early on, he was even listed at 6'7 by some people. He knows his own height and he knows how to lie. He's at least 6'6 with shoes.

Wade is like 6'3 but has around a 9'6 wingspan. Kind of helpful.

idk why is Durant still 6'9 when he is obviously taller? because they do measurements off positions.
