Default Phil jackson to get hip replacement surgery

was on espn. not expected to miss opening night but lets hope this doesnt affect the team that much considering hes gonna miss a big part of training camp.

Sounds painful.

Does anyone know what the lakers are thinking after phil's three years?

i mean there has to be a reason its a short term contract..Is it something phil wanted?

Well if Phil doesn't come back after his contract there is a talk that maybe Brian Shaw taking over as the coach but yeah about this topic I would be a little worried since he is gonna miss alot of the camp and it's not a great start for a strong season for the lakers.

whoa whoa whoa!!!

Brian shaw? I didnt hear that one.

Other coaches that run the triangle suck because theyre not ike phil....phil doesnt just teach a difficult system but he also brings the best out of everyone.

I was Kinda Hoping Pat Riley.

Pat riley...there is zero chance of that lol. The chance of Brian Shaw being the head coach is very high if phil leaves. I also belive Kobe said in an interview that he wouldn't mind his dad being the head coach.

So this evening, I told my father about Phil Jackson getting hip surgery. His first response was "what, the season is about to start."

So, I quipped back that he learned that from Shaq!

So, seriously... why did Phil wait until now to have the surgery? It does not seem like good timing for Laker's camp! Thoughts?

Agree why wait now, but I guess we have to look at it in a positive way............maybe it's better now than having it later in the season where he'll be more important.

Hey guys let's not blame Phil for being a stud , the only other posssible scenario that could be linked in regards to Phil waiting this long to have his surgery done is that Phil being 60 years old and dating a hot and much younger Jeannie at 45 could cause any older gentleman's hip to possibly go out on him at any given time: get well soon you devil .
