Default Olympic 2008

I can't wait till Kobe helps the USA dream team get the Gold again.

We all know he want to win everything: Championship and Olympic.

The thing is he delaying his pinky surgery till after he get the ring for 2008 Playoff championship (hoping). If so, will his recovery time force him to not play for USA Olympic team this summer?

Also, I don't know anything about international basketball teams. Is USA team definite Gold contender?

Oh. I missed that part. Damn, that's a long while. Well then, it looks like he won't be playing the first half next season.

The Olympics are over on August 24th...training camp normally starts at the beginning of October right? So if he gets the surgery immediately after the Olympics he will probably only miss training camp...maybe even a game or so in the pre-season. He will be 100% for the start of the year...that being said...I dont even want to think of next year...lets hope his finger holds up and we can make a run at the title...if he can maintain the level of play he showed at the end of this road trip with the injured finger...we should be the favorites to win the West...and with Bynum healthy and team chemistry...can take the title

From the articles I have read he wants to get the surgery after the Olympics and will probably miss a week or two of training camp next year. That timing works pretty good for everyone IF he can play through this at a high level.

The great part about the Olympics is they use Kobe more as a defensive specialist and he isn't leaned on as much for the scoring, because shooting with a bad hand has to be incredibly difficult. I think that hand is more messed up than he is leading on.

I don't know...if you let it stay in limbo, it'll take a lot longer to heal. We'll see.
