And having a bad rookie year is not a good sign...but it isn't a death sentence.that goes without saying...saying [insert QB here] had a bad rookie year but still succeeded as a defense is like saying Yao Ming is tall therefore asians are tall...it's an exception not the rule
IMO a QB having a great rookie year is the exception, not the rule

most QBs aren't that great as rookies...even today

I never said great...i said good

All reasonably young QBs who are considered quality in today's league had good rookie years...

Wilson
Luck
Griffin
Bradford
Newton
Kaepernick
Rodgers
Ryan
Flacco

list goes on and on...It's extremely rare nowadays for a guy to flat out suck in his rookie year and then become good....

Luck had a 76.5 rating, 26th in the league, and 18 INTs which was tied for 3rd most in the league, that is a "good" year?...no it really isn't at all...oh wait let me guess HE took the team to the playoffs all by himself right?

Flacco was "average" as a rookie...honestly I think he is "average" as a vet too

Rodgers sat 3 years

the others you listed did have "good" or even "great" rookie years...but IMO it has been a rare surge as of late and we shouldn't suddenly expect that from every QB...

Luck was better than his numbers suggest....he threw for over 4000 yards and took a 2-14 team to 10-6....

And correct about Flacco... Flacco's rookie year correlates with how good he is as a QB...Solid rookie year for an eventually solid QB.

Manziel's first preseason game he had 6 rushes for 27 yards including a 16 yard run...had he played the entire game he would have finished with 80-100 yards.

Don't know much about football but option isn't JM's game...Browns using him incorrectly. He isn't Tebow.
