Odom and Kwame's salaries would match KG, but Minny will want more...

So Odom, Bynum, Vlad, the 19th pick and a future pick. Minny can trade Odom after next year since he will have an expiring big contract to a team that wants to rebuild and get a few young prospects for him. Minny will start Bynum, Odom, Davis, Foye and Hudson with Blount, Vlad, McCants, Jaric, Griffin, and Hassel off the bench.

This would give the Lakers a starting lineup of:
Kwame, KG, Evans, Kobe and Farmar... unless they can pull Mo Williams from the Bucks with the MLE.

Now that Brian Grant's salary is off the books, can the Lakers pick up additional free agents and not have to worry about the MLE??? Actually, if Bibby were to opt out of his contract, could the Lakers offer more than the MLE? If so, they could offer him the 15 million they would have paid Grant. Imagine that.... Kwame, KG, Evans, Kobe and Bibby!!!!

no the lakers are still over the cap. as far as free agents go they can only use the MLE or work with a team on a sign and trade type deal...
