Defining "good" as having a consistent positive impact in helping your team win, Kobe Bryant is not as good as Duncan, Lebron, Wade, Howard, Paul, Dirk, Nash, Kidd, and probably some others I'm forgetting, just from his own generation, in terms of prime vs prime. Let alone throughout history. I don't think he's even close to top 20 all-time. He's a chucker and in terms of impact he's incredibly overrated. I'd take guys like McHale or Barkley over him in a heartbeat.

Hell yeah. McHale was a true two way PF. Some of the best post moves the league has ever seen and a legit 1st team all-D guy. (Keyword legit, unlike Kobe's).

Barkley frequently refers to McHale as the best player he ever played against, in terms of being matched up against each other on the court.

McHale one of the alltime greats, hes as underrated as Kobe "Gilbert Arenas" Bryant is overrated.
