As an employee of DHS this is welcomed news.


Telling us we would not get paid for sick time or vacation was total BS. We were supposed to hand in "official documentation" to bill collectors to let em know why we couldn't pay them.

It wast he logical move. I can't believe Planned Parenthood and other similar programs were really the things causing this delay. I don't see the point in negatively effecting countless thousands of govt employees because they are arguing over what basically amounts to pennies in the budget. It's still a good idea to look to cut the fat from the budget but the subject of the discussion should be the significant areas of spending if they want to make a real impact.

from what I've read, Planned Parenthood won't be defunded, and the EPA's power won't be restricted. At least with this specific action. However, no funding for abortion in DC.
