Jazz draft Nigel Williams-Goss in second round
The Utah Jazz selected guard Nigel Williams-Goss with the 55th overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, held Thursday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Williams-Goss (6-3, 190, Gonzaga) averaged 16.8 points, grabbed 6.0 rebounds and dished out 4.7 assists this past season at Gonzaga. He was named the 2017 WCC Player of the Year and scored 640 points this season, which ranked eighth all-time in a single-season in Bulldogs history. Williams-Goss played two seasons at Washington before transferring to Gonzaga.
Born in Happy Valley, Ore., Williams-Goss played high school basketball at Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nev. He was selected as a 2013 McDonald’s All-American and participated in the Jordan Brand Classic.
