They're not really contested shots though. Landry took and made one today that was wide open. Lin's are usually wide open. Novak doesn't really force up bad ones. Even Melo doesn't seem like he's taking too many.
The ones that really bother me are the transition ones, where no one else touches the ball. Chauncey used to do that 3 or 4 times a game.
It's certainly a huge part of it. For a team with no shooters, we continue to hoist them up. We are third in the league in 3 pointers attempted per game.
That's because they are copping out.
It's predicated on ball movement and an OPEN shot.
Amar'e fits D'antoni's system. He just doesn't have any pride. Neither of them do. It's not realistic, but D'antoni should bench Melo and Amar'e for an entire game, just to send a message.
Yea but be fair and do it against an elite team. Don't do it against the Raptors and when we win be like "I told you so." Bench Melo and Amare against the Bulls. Then when we get blown the hell out and Rose drops 90 on us, we can all stfu and finally join forces in a fire D'Antoni petition.

Amendment to that: do it against an elite team, on the road.
I would love to see Melo and Amare sit tonight vs the Bulls.
No because they have geriatrics as pgs. Lin can go nuts and look like Pistol Pete against Fisher and Kidd. I want to see Lin be the man when he's face to face with an elite pg.
Both at MSG. Lakers lost to the Wizards and Pistons(who are much better than the Knicks right now) on the road, and Dallas just lost 3 straight on the road to Phoenix, Sacratomato, and Golden State.

He's also 1 and 1 against Deron Williams. Look, the kid is basically 15 games into his career. He's got some holes, but what he's accomplished has been impressive. Like it or not, he's responsible for the most exciting and respectable Knicks team since the Melo trade.

They're both better than the Knicks. The last three Champions, in fact.
