This is similar to what the Hawks were for a very long time. Possibly good enough to make the playoffs, never had a chance at a title.
that describes 20+ teams in the league.

the key is, unless you are a team that can sign major FA, is to make as many smarts moves as possible (trades, draft picks, etc) and acquire as many assets as you can. that is what denver is doing - what other choice do they have? was it better to let gallo walk for nothing? or better to sign him to market value while keeping a TON of cap space? ill easily take the latter.

besides, i think we wont be nearly as good as you think we will be (losing lawson will hurt our offense big time) and we get extra ping pong balls in the lottery next year.

The thing about Gallo and Chandler is there is little upside. What you see is what you get. And Gallo has a long history of injuries, I don't see the need to immediately try to extend him. While Gallo is solid when healthy, he doesn't seem he stay on the court for extended times.

Mudiay looks solid but is still young and if he can become a franchise player is yet to be determined. I just don't think giving money to guys who have not led you anywhere is the way to go.
for what we paid them, what we get out of chandler and gallo is perfectly fine. they are good/solid players to have on a team. we have lots of picks and cap space to go get more talent later on.

besides, there is a minimum salary that has to be met. we cant just have a bunch of rookies, 2nd year players and minimum guys making 20-25 million combined. the cap is going past 100 million soon.

I get the feeling that ish is either (a) make super teams and win titles (like miami) or (b) get rid of everyone and be absolutely awful for many years (like philly).

but i agree on mudiay - he holds a big part of the future. if hes a huge bust then signing or not signing gallo doesnt make a difference at all. if hes the real deal, then the signing looks even better.

this is also true for a majority of the league.

only certain teams can sign "marquee" free agents. not being able to isnt a knock on those teams...its just a sign of the league and the mentality current nba players.

ISH is so pathetic.. Just trolls trying to yell the loudest

Why do i even bother checking out the main forum

    - Nuggets need to pay someone (especially with the new cap Bump)
    - No legit free agent will sign in Denver
    - Danilo Gallinari is really ****ing good when healthy
    - Gallo has legit injury concerns, but a two year extension is almost no risk
