Worthy's a very good comp.

As for the Jordan comps, keep in mind that Jordan wasn't that well established coming out. He had a national player of the year, but no one was, nor could expect what happened. Bias was a similar athlete coming out of the same conference just a few years later. It was a natural route to think at that time. By 91, Jordan was a much different player than anyone could have expected Bias to ever become, even with the highest expectations. Hell, Jordan was a lot different than what anyone really imagined.
If he could have refined his handle enough to play in the backcourt, he would have been more a long strider open court guy, like Drexler.

Something I think never gets mentioned enough is that everyone that knew Len Bias says he was the recipient of a spiked drink.

I live in the DC area. I've met people that grew up with Bias. Nearly all of them will swear on the lives of their children Bias was not a drug user. Many of them readily admit that Reggie Lewis experimented here and there. However, they all say Len never went near hardcore drugs.

The theory in these parts is that Bias received a spiked drink either from someone jealous of his success (anyone that has spent any significant amount of time in the DC area knows jealousy and envy are not uncommon here) or from someone tied to people he had a prior beef with.

It's worth mentioning that Jay Bias, Len's younger brother, was shot to death in the parking lot of Prince George's Plaza mall four years later. He was only 20 years old.
