As for the Jordan comps, keep in mind that Jordan wasn't that well established coming out. He had a national player of the year, but no one was, nor could expect what happened. Bias was a similar athlete coming out of the same conference just a few years later. It was a natural route to think at that time. By 91, Jordan was a much different player than anyone could have expected Bias to ever become, even with the highest expectations. Hell, Jordan was a lot different than what anyone really imagined.
If he could have refined his handle enough to play in the backcourt, he would have been more a long strider open court guy, like Drexler.
