I always thought that he would have been a really great college coach, because he is a great teacher of skills. He is one of the smartest coaches who really understands fundamentals.
His personality is always so grating that after 3-4 years, guys tune him out.
For college that's perfect, since guys stay for a max of 4 years (and some guys leave after 1 or 2).
Also he needs time in practice to coach, and unfortunately in the NBA, that simply isn't as available due to scheduling.
If he had become a college coach, he would be up there with any of the greats, Coach K, Izzo, Self, anyone up there.
