Re: 2014 French Open Thread
Haven't watched much of the tournament. Watching Sharapova and Muguruza replay right now... man I love Tennis.
Also, this guy Gulbis is a real talent and he has a really interesting story too. Apparently his father is a Russian billionaire and the guy has been coasting on the tour for years off natural talent, and just partying and shit. He's a little older now, and seems to be taking Tennis more serious... and he has some serious game.

I thought Gulbis was on the up when I saw him playing in 2010.. then he suddenly disappeared again.

latvia, not russia... but otherwise, yea
as a djoker fan i'm proud of how he contained the hot-playing raonic yesterday, but he soitenly has his work cut out to beat the red-hot gulbis and then rafa. *gulp*

Re: 2014 French Open Thread
Nadal is back
All it took was one set from Ferrer before Rafa said fuck it, and realized he's the best player in the world. Murray's gonna get wrecked if he brings that weak shit he brought against Monfils. He might be able to scrape through a 5 setter with Gael, but Rafa won't let that slide.

Agreed, Gulbis is a stud. He's always had the game to be dangerous on tour, he's just starting to act on it these past couple years. He's got everything - huge serve, powerful shots from both wings, touch, speed around the court, etc. He just didn't have the intensity...but now he does. He showed flashes last season, especially at Indian Wells, but this year he looks to be on another level. The way he absolutely trashed Berdych, I think he could actually take out Djokovic if he brings that same game/intensity.
