Is the Tablet a useless electronic device for a person who has a cell phone and lapto

Seems to be a pointless electronic device since

1. Your phone can do everything a Tablet can do

2. Tablet is too big for public

3. Not necessary for Indoors since you have the laptop or PC


So what the hell am I paying for when it really serves no purpose at home or in public?

A tablet is more portable than a laptop.

I'd suggest investing in a tablet if you love to watch videos, browse the web, play games, or do other multimedia related things on your phone. The battery life is substantially better than that of a phone.

The bigger screen is obviously a plus. I'd suggest going with a tablet that supports 4G/3G or LTE just so you can use it's internet features without the need of a WiFi connection.

For me this is how I want my electronics to be balanced:

Laptop: should be used for business (school) w/ a little entertainment
Tablet: should be used for entertainment w/ a little business (school)
Phones: should be an equal combination of both

I watch videos, browse the web, play games, and other multmedia things on my laptop at home.

Never really had to use something that bad on the go. If I did, I would be using my phone or preparing for it with my laptop prior to the trip.

My phone provides all the necessary on the go things that I usually need. I don't have data, so tablets aren't much of a use for me.

If I needed the internet that badly, there are wi-fi spots and I can use the internet with my phone (although it's slower than I would like)

I stay close enough to my home that I can just go home soon after I finish my errands and go to my already opened laptop.

Tablets are useless. Phones are pretty much almost as big as tablets now too, plus have higher quality screens. IDK why tablets have so much of an appeal to people.

Yes. I feel much in the same way as you do. Only after a couple of uses with the tablet did I see POSSIBLE useful traits. Still not enough to persuade me to ever get one. I hate the fact that laptops are becoming more like tablets.

Although I would say this, I've seen my aunt/uncles provide their children a tablet to play, even a fcking 2 year old. She was dragging the tablet around on the ground. I can't imagine if that was a laptop instead.

I would never give a kid a tablet, but if it's needed, tablet is better suited for the young.

That's what some girl told me on the phone, that they are more suited for kids

I'm a gadget nut so of course I have bought a couple of tablets along the way but it was just to tinker with. I have no real use for it, especially since I got a Note phone. That thing is 5.5 or 5.7 inches

I don't travel in trains long enough to want to watch videos on a larger screen. I suppose if I was traveling for a couple of hours, I wouldn't mind a tablet to watch some tv shows I downloaded...but sometimes I have motion sickness which ruins the experience.

I don't game enough. I'd rather listen to music on the go or read a reddit subforum if I have a few mins to kill.

When I'm home, I am strictly laptop and phone communicating on Whatsapp or Kik. Literally haven't turned on a tablet for 3 months. Waste of money for me I swear, wouldn't surprise me if a deal comes along and I jump on another tablet Love my gadgets.

Like someone else said.. Tablets are great if you are constantly travelling and have a few hours of downtime. Large size screen to watch movies saved on tablet or watching youtube (assuming you have good data or wifi access outside of your home). If you are browsing online and not much of a big TV/ Movies/Youtube guy, then you're better off with your smart phone.

At home though, you're better off with a laptop 99% of the time though.

I am not a fan of technology.

Tablets r amazing. If, big if, you use public transportation a reasonable amount. Tablets r so nice for the subway, bus, airplane, train etc. Phones r better if u only drive cars.

It's great if you travel, just load it up with TV shows/ movies to watch to pass time. It's slim, light and portable. Perfect on a train or plane etc..

Apart from that I'm not sure why you'd want one. Before I started travelling I had one for 6 months and used it once, got it very cheap so thought May aswel, it's a galaxy tab s.. But at home it's usually laptop at home, phone everywhere else. No need for it
