Default GT: Game 2 v Nuggets 10/31

V
Los Angeles Clipper(0-1) VS Denver Nuggets(0-1)

WHEN: Friday, October 31st at 7:30 PM
WHERE: Staples Center in Los Angeles, California
TV: FSN Prime Ticket
Radio: ESPN AIM 710
Clippers Last Game: 79-117 loss vs Lakers
Nuggets Last Game: 94-98 loss @ Utah

Q's Quote:
"Horrible start with the blow-out loss, but I can not see us dropping this one. All the mistakes we made against the Lakers are fixable, mainly the chemistry issue. I also greatly doubt we'll shoot less then 40% from the field again, and should be able to get back to even with 80 games left. Camby better get his ass up and play against the Nuggets."

Q's Prediciton: 92-80 victory
Q's Prediction Record: 0-1

Gonna go out with my girl so unfortunately I wont be able to catch the game. The Nuggets are weak up front with only Nene, Kmart, and Chris Andersen being their "bigs" so if we penetrate we should be able to get alot of high percentage shots.

Yeah, but Kaman is extra weak in the preseason and game one. If Kaman does not bring it, we are screwed. I remember being punked by Birdman in the preseason.

Yes, we suffered in the first game from rebounding. We were outrebounded by the Jazz 46 - 35. But the same problem happened with you, You were outrebounded by the lakers 51 - 32..

two teams had same problem in first game, only one can win today.
good luck.

GO Nuggets

I hope the Clipps get this one... The loss against the Lakers was brutal..

Davis looked good in the first quarter of that game, hopefully the rest of the team will join him against the Nuggs. Thornton need to settle down, hes quicker than most sf's on the court so he just needs to focus and figure out how to use his speed to his advantage.

I also hope Camby gets to play, so we could see what changes he can bring to this team, and so that he can help beat his former team.

Also, I was hopin' in the last game to see Gordon play, since it was a blowout.. but he was not able to do much.. Hopefully, hell get a few minutes today and see what he brings...

Clippers up 19-16 with 2:48 left in the first.

After a horrible start to this game, like of the Laker game, the Clippers seem to have it going, but again, its just like the Laker game. Thornton had a sick put back, Kaman seems to righting his ship, Thomas is starting to get his conditioning back and Mobley is just playing nice.

After a 12-4 Nuggets start, the Clippers end the quarter strong and have a 28-20 lead[a 24-8 scoring run].

Thornton has three jams already, and a nice takeaway when the Birdman tried to go up in the ayer. Davis to Davis to Davis was also a funny possession and Paul Davis is showing that he belongs in the L on the offensive end. Its also nice to see Kaman playing like the Kaman that got paid the contract he got. I'm dissapointed I didn't go to the game.

Clippers up 33-26 with 8:20 left in the first half.

Baron Davis is going to the locker room after that hard fall. Besides that, Eric Gordon scored his first points, Paul Davis and Chris Kaman have combined for 4 blocks. Nene had a sick posterized jam on Brian Skinner.

Clippers with the biggest lead of the game going into the half, 55-37. Kaman should have hit that lost shot, but oh well. Tim Thomas though, dude is fire, hitting treys and had that solid cut. Nuggets, without Nene on the court, are just horrible tonight and Kleiza is playing like the Clippers did on opening night :

Breaking Down The Boxscore:
Chris Kaman is one point away from a double double as he has 9 points, 10 boards to go with 3 blocks, 2 steals a dime and no turnovers. He is a bad 2-6 from the field, but has hit 5 out of 6 free throws.
Tim Thomas, as previously mentioned, is having a good game as he has chipped in 14 points and grabbed 5 boards on 5-8 shooting and 2-4 behind the arc. Dude needs to hit his free throws as now he's 4-13 from the line this season.
Al Thornton chipped in with this 13 and even though Mobley is 2-10 from the field, he has 5 points, 4 boards, 3 dimes and 2 steals.

For the Nuggets, nothing stands out besides Dahntay Jones having 9 points on 9-10 shooting from the field.

Refs screwed us when nenes shot should've been a 24 second violation.

We played prety competitive and just fell apart the last 2 minutes.

On the bright side paul davis looked pretty good out there and tim thomas and al thornton played really good games. Unfortunately baron got hurt and didn't come back. Hopefully his injury is not serious.

Baron Davis was to the locker room with a bruised tailbone after falling very hard on his tailbone midway through the second quarter and is questionable to return.

He was able to get up and walk off under his own power, but came out of the game while Denver guard Dahntay Jones was shooting free throws and headed straight to the locker room.

Davis was called for a foul on the play. He was undercut while in the air and fell directly on his tailbone. He did not brace himself with either hand, presumably because he's still nursing a partially torn ligament in his left ring finger.

UPDATE: Davis' injury is now being termed a sore left hip instead of a bruised tailbone.

Glad Kaman has returned to form and Thornton was able to score, besides that, no other player did well besides Thomas and the little we saw of Mike Taylor. I have no clue why the hell Dunleavy didn't play Steve Novak when we couldn't miss a shot. How stupid can he be. Oh well, hope Davis' injury isn't serious and we miss Camby, getting outrebounded by 10 is a joke not to mention shooting 38%. No one came out with any intensity but Baron and Taylor, but once Dizzle went down, the game was all but over. Not a good way to start the season.
