Thats the best we'll see shaq because his motivation doesn't last long. You won't see Shaq running like that against the hawks or any other lowly team.
He was extremely pumped for a few reasons:
* It was his debut with his new team
* It's against an old team that just got so much better
* It was against an old teammate in Kobe
* the crowd was extra loud to support him and he got the message
this wont happen every game.
Exactly...also, forget the rust factor... the only reason shaq still isn't a force is because he can't put together a string of solid games...he has been sitting on his ass resting for the last 4 weeks...of course he will come out with energy...I want to see him dive on the floor during a 7 game road trip...sorry, aint gonna happen...
also put this into perspective, players who are old may not have problem performing on court when given a 2 week break.
what older players usually struggled with was the heavy road schedule or even home games where they don't have enough time to rest up their body as they don't heal as fast anymore. Shaq had a heck of a game, showing what he's worth, but then, I'm sure the next morning he's gonna wake up feeling the pain that he put his body through with the excess minutes that he played.
Shaq will give you those game once every 3 or 4 games, with enough rest, but for the other, I just don't see him being able to run up and down like that in back to back games or even with a 1 day rest.
And their defense was horrible, flashy blocks? yes, easy lay up for the other team? yes. It's going to be interesting to see how well Amare will match up against most other PFs in the West
It wouldn't surprise me ..... If his body worked as well as his mouth, the whole rest of the league would be in trouble!! ..... BUT I didn't listen to the whole interview ... I was tired of listening to his BS!!! Man, he's so fricken arrogant!!!
