We’ll see if Rubio continues to come off the bench and if he can be productive in that role. Dante Exum will be making his return sometime soon and it will be even more interesting to see how Quin Snyder handles rotations now that Donovan Mitchell is asserting himself as the obvious choice as the lead dog on offense.

was obvious over a year ago but here we are still discussing it

What is there to evaluate? He's mostly sucked and should have been with the Stars. Looked good recently though and gives you just another reason to trade Rubio, Exum etc. to get him in the rotation

Since returning, Gasol is averaging 10.3 minutes in the last nine games, averaging two points and 4.2 rebounds. He could be attractive to a team looking to add a veteran presence, but Gasol’s $16 million salary makes a trade unlikely. “I just don’t see him having any trade value,” one league executive told The Athletic. However, the attraction could be his contract next season. Gasol’s final year is valued at $16 million, but only $6.7 million is guaranteed if Gasol is waived. – via The Athletic
Trade him for Favors. Can at least hit 3's

A Pistons source told the Free Press recently Bullock, along with backup point guard Ish Smith, is garnering trade interest. Bullock would be a great addition for any team jockeying for playoff position or looking for an additional piece to contend — a team like the Philadelphia 76ers, who have designs on reaching the NBA Finals with a nucleus of Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons and Jimmy Butler. It could be an easy call for the Pistons since they have cratered since a 13-7 start and are currently below the Eastern Conference cutline for a playoff spot. – via Detroit Free Press

Bullock, making $2.5 million this season, will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason so the Pistons must weigh re-signing him, trading him or risk losing him for nothing. The Pistons would like to re-sign Bullock and Smith (also a free agent) this offseason, according to the team source. It makes for a tricky situation. There are certain trade proposals that would be a no-brainer. If a team offers a first-round pick, it would be smart for the Pistons to move Bullock. Adding a solid first-rounder to their own pick would go toward the Pistons accumulation of assets. But a second-rounder? The decision becomes hazy. – via Detroit Free Press

And Stanley Johnson? He will likely be a restricted free agent, but it’s safe to assume the Pistons wouldn’t mind moving him, though his trade value is low. Other teams scout games and know his struggles through four seasons. Would the Pistons move Johnson? Yes. Are there any takers? The Pistons are looking for some sort of clarity over the next nine games before the deadline, the team source said. – via Detroit Free Press

Bullock could be a nice get

Harrison Wind: Michael Malone says Harris/Barton are still on sub-20 min restrictions. When those restrictions are upped to the mid-20’s both will move back into the starting lineup. Malone wants Harris, for example, to play continuously at the end of the first/beginning of the second quarters. – via Twitter HarrisonWind

Nick Kosmider: Jarred Vanderbilt is listed as questionable to play at Utah tomorrow night. Doubt he makes his debut just yet, but he’s obviously progressed closer to his pro debut. – via Twitter NickKosmider

For the first time, the Memphis Grizzlies will begin listening to trade offers on center Marc Gasol and guard Mike Conley, league sources tell ESPN. – via ESPN
Trade, Marc Gasol, Mike Conley, Memphis Grizzlies

Gasol and Conley met with owner Robert Pera in Memphis recently, but neither expressed a desire to be traded, league sources told ESPN. – via ESPN

The Grizzlies could decide to keep one or both players if no deals meet their threshold, but they’re motivated to begin reshaping the roster around 2018 first-round pick, forward Jaren Jackson, league sources said. – via ESPN

It's what I a said at the first of the year as soon as I saw Jackson. Jazz better at least be inquiring about Conley. He makes too much sense. He has 2 more years on his deal after this one. So expiring deals, young players and picks should be enticing. Exum, Bradley, Allen, Neto, Niang, Goss etc.

Jazz players Thabo Sefolosha and Raul Neto were reexamined by the Utah Jazz medical staff on Tuesday and the following was determined: Sefolosha (mild right hamstring strain) will be reevaluated in one week. Neto (left groin strain) will be reevaluated in one week. Jazz guard Danté Exum still has one more week before being reevaluated for his left ankle sprain. Jazz center Tony Bradley still has two more weeks before being reevaluated on his right knee surgery. – via NBA.com

Gives you at least another week of looking at things with Ricky coming off the bench before Exum comes back

If (when?) the Grizzlies reach the point that they are truly prepared to break up their star duo of Gasol and Mike Conley, one potential trade scenario I’ve heard would involve Memphis insisting to any interested team that Chandler Parsons must be involved in the same trade. – via New York Times

Quin also likes Temple. Maybe get a 3rd or 4th team involved

If the NBA returns to Paris next season, as commissioner Adam Silver suggested last week, the Orlando Magic swingman might be busy lobbying the NBA to let his team play the Utah Jazz and fellow countryman Rudy Gobert in France. When asked after Monday’s win in Atlanta about the likelihood of the NBA playing a regular-season game in his hometown, Fournier could hardly contain his excitement. – via Orlando Sentinel

Silver discussed the likelihood of the NBA returning to Paris last week during a press conference before the Knicks and Wizards faced off in London, where the league has played at least one regular-season game every year since 2013. Fournier, who is in his fifth season with the Magic, said he was at home when he first heard the Paris-related news, and his phone began to buzz with activity. He instantly thought of the proper matchup for the NBA’s next game in his hometown. – via Orlando Sentinel

“When I heard that I was at home chilling, and I got some texts from my friends,” he said. “And was like, ‘Man, if we could have a Utah vs. Orlando game, that would be beautiful.’” So will Fournier lobby the league for a Magic-Jazz contest? “Oh yes. Of course,” he said. “Especially [for] me. I’m the only guy who’s actually from Paris. I was born and raised in Paris. The other guys are like north, south, whatever. I’m actually from there.” – via Orlando Sentinel
