Its crazy to think there are huge state of the art cities just sitting vacant. That's what happens when you build cities. Cities are made naturally

Japan had their bubble burst, China will too. in Japan, there is a place called ODaiba in Tokyo, totally modern, and the area just stops. They planned it and ran out of money. It looks like as if you were drawing a picture and you just stopped.

china is so integral to world manufacturing and economy, i don't know how the world doesn't go in to global depression when china's bubble bursts.

if the EU hasn't become considerably financially stronger by that time, i would imagine it takes down the euro, too.

i think we should look at things in scale because their population is nuts. a ghost city in china is probably only like a ghost suburb neighborhood in america...

you got hundreds of millions of farmers over there who are tired of being farmers. the future demand for city homes is pretty much guaranteed for them, so they have that advantage. when you talk about hundreds of millions of people who are ready to be urbanized and move into cities within the next decade or two, then 10,000 or 20,000 empty apartments right now, which seem insane to us, is almost irrelevant...

how do we stop this??? well, you can stop buying shit from walmart, apple, and whatever crap you need and use at home. it's like everytime you spend on anything, they get a piece of it. even if you get a f--king haircut, that hair drier or whatever equipment like the stupid chair from the barber's shop is now made in china. lol

VICE did a documentary on this, China may seem to the U.S. as the new super power, but they are living in the 1960s.

i like how the chinese guy is whining about free market price speculation and how the government should intervene and give a housing subsidy to everyone, and everyone here is going "china sucks" because they aren't communist enough.

Its a different ball game over there.

In America we want largely free markets because 'Merica makes its money as an innovator, and you dont wanna stifle investment and ingenuity. Not to mention there are less people and thus society is relatively easier to manage without government intervention.

In China, they got over a billion people all being served up the ideas of a new world/culture at the same time and theres a hell of a lot of organizing that needs to be done. The modern world developed gradually in a place like the US, whereas these ideas are practically being dropped suddenly on a massive population licking its chops to take advantage. There is absolutely a greater objective need for government intervention in a place like China than in 'Merica.
