I think those are two valid points.

I think if not for the injuries that just riddled the roster, they may have had a much better record.

Not to say that the same roster would get it done this next season, but the injury factor should at least be remembered.

I think the Gasol convincing Gasol to head over here is wishful thinking..

But ill definitely wish for that

I think rebuilding should not be a notion outside of the lakers mind, yet its easier said that done.

There is no possible way that Portland give Oden for KB.. they are in full rebuilding status.. and doing a great job at it. They will not trade a young future (projected by some) dynamo for a shooting star.. KB may be shinning bright now but hes on the older side of his power playing days and any team that trades for him should want to win now. Portland is not even close to winning in the now. They are however collecting fine pieces for a solid future.

Oden and Roy... very nice, indeed.

That is why the Bulls are considered the better place to send KB, because they can offer players and could still potentially win now.

And even then I dont think Paxon would shake up the whole roster just to get KB. Which means that if KB were dealt, the lakers would receive a deal much like with Shaq... just not enough.

Eighter way, winning now or rebuilding, it dont look too nice for the lakers.
