I totally agree with you, but I have a feeling with the surprise season the Raps are having, he may be retained. I'm not buying that Mitchell is all of a sudden a good coach because he won coach of the month. Rap fans know better. Trust me, the "Fire Mitchell" chants will come out again.

- Props to CB4 on acchieving the honorary monthly award for tops in the East... Usually when a player misses 12 games due to injury {especially with a bigs knee} they dont necessarily come back and instantly light things up... in Chris' case the second he stepped back onto the floor give or take the game in Jersey he began playing some of the most quality ball of his career... Hands down, I am truly proud to have this man labeled as our team leader for he handles his buisness quietly yet effieciently on the court and after meeting him at the club one night i can honestly proclaim that hes a btter person then basketball player... So put two and two togther...

This discussion sounds kind of familiar but lets do it again.

The raps are not being built to win THIS year (yes even with 3 awards) but for a few years down the road. So IMO you let Sam work with the guys, learn as they learn, take his lumps as they do and grow into a great coach around the same time.

Quick trivia question....How many coaches won the title in their first year and every year after that??????

Think about it! Sam & the crew NBA champs 2009.

Mitchell can learn, but he already has been coach for almost two years, at this point he should atleast be able to draw up a set play after a timeout, but he can't. When you look at the next great coach in the NBA, someone like Avery Johnson, he just stepped in and was able to lead and run things, Mitchell still hasn't shown much in 2 years. Last year we were best when we had Gene Keady behind our bench helping with plays, Colangelo will want to bring in his own guy, Marc Iavaroni.

Exactly, Avery stepped into a good team built for immediate success. He may be a good coach but lets put him in say.........Atlanta or Portland and see how he does.

Sam is growing and learning as fast as his players and should be a good coach when the team gets good.

Hey how long did it take Phil Jackson and Pat Riley to win their first championships??
