Default Sixers resign Lou to 5 yearS/25 mil

http://www.philly.com/philly/hp/spor...year_deal.html

Quote:
The 76ers agreed to terms today with restricted free agent guard Louis Williams on a 5-year contract.
Additional terms of the deal were not immediately known.

"It's a good deal for Louis," Merle Scott, Williams' agent, told the Daily News. "It gives him a chance to grow with a team that's building and allows him to stay with the team he came into the league with."

No news yet on how much but...

Stefanski

UPDATE:
http://www.reclinergm.com/louis-will...th-the-sixers/

Philly.com is not reporting any terms of the contract, but I just saw Derrick Gunn on Comcast SportsNite say the deal is reportedly worth $25 million over the 5 years.

Glad Sixers are finally through this. The contract doesn't sounds really bad either. C'mon Lou, keep showing progress

Yesterday, Williams' agent, Merle Scott, said his client would formally sign the five-year contract next week when the two parties can "schedule a time."

The value of the contract is reportedly about $25 million.

Quote:
Scott said that other NBA teams, as well as certain European clubs, were interested in Williams, but that his preference was to return to the 76ers.

That would have pissed me off.

The 76ers' press conference to announce the re-signing of guard Louis Williams will be held today at 1 p.m. at Green Valley Country Club. The business aspect of the process has been completed. Now, the work in the gym becomes even more concentrated.
"Now he knows what he has and where he's going to be," said Merle Scott, Williams' agent. "He knows it's time to get in the gym 100 percent, working hard."

Williams and Scott agreed to a 5-year guaranteed contract worth somewhere between $25 million and $27 million. Scott declined comment when asked whether the deal included an opt-out clause.

Sixers president/general manager Eddie Stefanski confirmed the signing during the team's Beach Bash in Avalon, N.J., but did not offer any details. He also said he was "progressing" in negotiations to re-sign Andre Iguodala, the team's remaining restricted free agent.

"Louis feels really, really good - he's very happy," Scott said. "This is where he wanted to be. We went through the business aspects to see what his value and level of interest around the NBA might be, but he wanted to stay with the Sixers and they were very fair with him. He's a very, very mature-minded 21-year-old in his thinking."
Good to hear he's progressing with Andre.
