Kobe sure as hell shitted on prime JR Rider in the late 90s NBA playoffs, and this was the late 90s jacking up air ball after air ball Kobe at that.

    Definitive in 2006.
    Arguable in 2007.
Best in 2008, with peak CP3 / prime LeBron having arguments.
Arguable in 2009, and 2010 with peak Wade / near peak LeBron.

i had no clue Lebron was in the league in 2001

    these guys still trolling

kobe bryant was the best player from 06'-10', with 07' being the only year that would be considered a "stretch."

Strong argument for 2001 (depending on how much weight you put into Playoff performance)

Solid argument for 2006 (Dirk had a slightly better Regular Season imo but Kobe wasn't close to him in the Playoffs)

    2007's best player:

    2008 was Kobe imo.

    Then it was LeBron.

So 2008 and maybe 2001 (though Shaq was much better than Kobe in the Regular Season).

    this guy

kobe took a team in 06' that had no business being there to the playoffs, go look up all the articles in 06' of what the coaches were saying back then. they knew they were witnessing history with his herculean scoring numbers.

i don't have a good argument for him in 07'.

08'-10' shouldn't even needed to be explained. 08' took his team to the finals, 09'-10', 2 time fmvp and 2 rings along with beating the very teams that bran could not beat despite bran having a superior record than the very teams he faced.

Was arguably the best player in the 01 playoffs. Put up 29/7/6 on 47% shooting with elite defense. Had back to back 45/10 games on the road.

I'd say he was the best player in the game from 2006 to 2010, with 07, 09, and 10 being debatable. He averaged 30/5/5 on 46% shooting in this span, while maintaining those averages in the post season against elite western competition. 3 Finals appearances, 2 FMVP's, and some of the most dominant playoff series of the decade:

    - 34/6/5 50% in 08 quarterfinals

    - 33/7/7 49% in 08 semifinals

    - Destroyed the defending champion Spurs in the 08 WCF. Shot 53% in the series and finished them off in game 5 by leading a 20 point comeback.

    - 34/6/6 48% in 09 WCF

    - 32/7/6 43% in 09 Finals

    - 32/5/4 52% in 10 Semifinals

    34/8/7 52% in 10 WCF

Consistent dominance against brutal western competition...not to mention the nonsensical scoring streaks he went on in the mid 2000's. 4 straight 50+ point games, multiple months of averaging 40 points.

It's funny when people try to act like Kobe wasn't raping the league for the better part of a decade.

lol at the "brutal western conference" when I compared their competition of every year and it was equal at the least. http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/sho...6&postcount=48
