Why did LA get rid of one of their best young players?

Incompetent franchise. Why do you think they have been irrelevant for over half a decade?

Cousins, off an Achilles injury? That cousins?

And Lebron that is still considered the best player in the game?

Sit down dude.

They chased star power for money and ratings but it is hard to blame them. Even if they built a team from scratch with Tatum, dlo, randle Ingram etc and won a championship they still wouldn't have gotten as much airtime as they will with LeBron. Rings mean little to a franchise so spoiled by them.

Yeah, Lakers actually extended qualifying offer to Randle so they had every intention of keeping him, but he wanted to be released. Magic complied and made him an unrestricted free-agent.

Most Lakers fans actually supported keeping Randle, but I guess he wanted guaranteed big minutes. He would have lost minutes and his role would have diminished a tad bit if he had stayed with Lakers.

Randle continues to FLOURISH in New Orleans. Solid double double off the bench once more, 14/14 in 24 minutes. More wasn't necessary as the Pelicans blew out the Kings. What a player this guy is. Freed from the terrible Lakers Why are and will Magic and Pelinka continue to be such idiots?

What?

They could have easily kept Randle and still added Lebron. Not sure what you are talking about.

They decided to bring in a bunch of vets that don't make sense on the team instead of keeping Randle. Which was just dumb...especially dumb because they didn't event trade Randle...they got nothing for him.

This notion that it is just impossible to play Lebron and Randle together...but it makes sense to play Rondo / Lance / Lebron together at times is hilarious.

Randle is a better player than anyone they brought in around Lebron and was younger and likely only improving...while everyone else is getting worse...and they don't even have a future on the team.

This team with Randle / Lopez, for example, would be so much better than it will be now in my opinion. Not to mention you are potentially stunting the growth of Ball in favor of playing a no shooting no defense playing Rondo on a 1 year deal.

Randle wanted guaranteed minutes, starting role and also a long term deal. Lakers could not guarantee any, but would match any qualifying offer, however Randle did not like this and said he’d like to leave LAL.

Stop putting this on magic like he simply let him go, Randle asked out and Magic gave him his wishes.

Again, you don't just lose a player like Randle for nothing.

You either make it work or actually get a return.

Lakers fans need to stop acting like they just had to let him go. That just isn't true.

Randle’s exit from LA was forged early in the 2017-18 season when the Lakers refused to offer him an extension. But let me remind you morons Randle was deemed a ‘scrub’ by many of you at that point. He went on to have a baller season, yes. Luke should have started him earlier, yes. Same old ‘would have’ ‘could have’ Monday morning quarterbacking that a lot of you seem to hang your hats on

They didn’t just let him go..if you’re mgmt, do you leverage future susperstar landings bcuz of a young role player in Randle In Trying to persuade him not to leave? Nothing taken away from Randle, bcuz he’s a decent to good player, but he’s not going to put the Lakers over the top by being on the team IMO.

If he asked out, do you think he was going to reconsider coming back for anything less than 12-15mil and at least a 3-4yr deal? Doubt it. So at that point as mgmt, yea you had no choice but to let him go.
