Our lord and saviour
Anyone else thinks Paul Pierce will retire now?
I'm thinking that domino effect will make him retire.
Kobe, Duncan, KG.
I think he'll look at the league and think 'Geez, What am I still doing here?'
I won't be surprised if he'll announce his retirement soon.

Re: Anyone else thinks Paul Pierce will retire now?
Why should he when Dirk hasn't. Those players were on earlier draft classes.

Pierce looked good on the Wizards, but has been shit on the Clippers.

Pierce is 1 year older than Dirk. And Pierce just came off a season in which he averaged 6 PPG as basically a "utility" type player for the Clippers.
Doesn't mean he should retire but Dirk and Pierce aren't comparable at the moment. Pierce and KG are most certainly comparable though.

If he does it should not come as a surprise. He has already mentioned that he's considering it.

NBA lottery pick
Re: Anyone else thinks Paul Pierce will retire now?
Pierce has a great case to be a top 10 GOAT SF. And in terms of his overall scoring skillset, I think it's in the top 10 of all time among perimeter players. People will sleep on that and not realize it. BUT PP mixed in the postup, midrange, slashing, and 3ball in an epic manner. So adding him to Kobe, Timmy, and KG in a Hall class would add even more prestige.

Based on their play this year, both Kobe and KG were done as far as top-level talent. For that matter, KG has been done for a while now, and we all know Kobe isn't spending his last few years as a role bench player. Pierce, VC, and Dirk all came into the league in 98( well 99 based on the lockout). It's pretty much their time to go next, though Dirk is actually still producing(18/6,55% TS).
