Great idea to solve the energy problem
Harness the power of Wave energy, release some nuclear bombs in the deep ocean which will create massive swells that could be harvested for spectacular energy...

bump
The cost and energy requirements of making the nukes would be less than the resulted output of the super-waves created.... Means it's efficient and sustainable

Off the west coast of Australia seems like the perfect place.
Western Australia is massive so I can't see the wave making its way to the more important parts of the country.

We OWN the export trade. Perth is the chillest city in the world.

I hear great things about WA bruh. Beautiful ass beaches but let's be serious...the entire country of Australia has beautiful beaches.
I'll make it out there at some point. Perth is chill as shit I'm sure...so goddamn isolated.

Or just generate energy in a nuclear power plant

No because you have to look at it in terms of surplus. Creating the nuclear bombs requires lots of energy and indirect electricity through the tools used to put the nuke together.
Now you blow the bombs up. Yes, you could capture lots of the energy from the massive swells, but you have to subtract the amount of energy you put into making the bombs from that. Will it be a surplus? Yes, but you would have harvest a huge percentage of the swells to make it worth your resources and time.
The destruction from the underwater radiation must also be considered and the explosions also uproot the sand and everything into all directions, killing fishes/underwater plants that absorb CO2 for miles in all directions. You damaged nature through this. How is that better than any other energy source?
You will get significantly more energy from a single nuclear fission powerplant within a few years than your idea.
