he's missing a lot of key guys... this years team can't hide his weaknesses anymore.

he's the GOAT for now but i think brees will take that spot after he claims every record in the book and wins another superbowl

he's 1.5 years away from passing peyton manning for all time career touchdowns

he's basically tied with tom brady in career passer rating. will likely pass him after bradys decline. only other 2 guys ahead will dip drastically after their primes are over ( wilson/rodgers )

brees is the GOAT after one more superbowl. winning isn't as important in football as it is in basketball... every record in the book and multiple rings would do it

Brees doesn't even have an MVP. He's one of the all-time greats, but GOAT??

Lets face it, winning does matter. It's the reason why many had Montana the GOAT before Brady came along, I don't see anyone catching Brady anytime soon.

Im sure in the 50's ppl thought Mikan was gonna go down as the goat.Til we seen a good black player play the same position. The goat will have it all, running a 5.2 40 will never go down as the goat.

Him being a snail affects his team more than you could even imagine. From simply taking longer to hand the ball off to a rb,which gives the defense more time too adjust to stop him. To him being slow-footed on drop backs which helps give the defense more time to either sack him or dbs time to recover on routes.

I could keep giving examples of how his lack of athleticism affects his team/teammates.

He didnít have Gronk in 2013 and bounced back easily

Lmao Brees the goat? Brady has a better career passer rating, more rings, MVPs and is like a year and a half older than him. The moment Brady falls of Brees is not that far off

football is just as much of a total team effort as baseball IMO

a QB is only as good as his defense and lineman. great QB's also need some great receivers

imagine if a baseball player had the all time highest WAR, OBP, OPS, hits, homeruns, average .... but someone else had more titles and mvps... would that even matter?

Yeah despite what you said Brady still has a better passer rating, less int and the same amount of TDs(or maybe 2 behind)

97.5 to 97.1 is basically tied. brady will fall harder than brees will so this will flip before theyre both retired

interceptions just come with the style. brady relied on teammates a lot more so he has way less completions

IMO its more about completion percentage

If that was the case then Steve Young would be the GOAT.

Brees has a higher comp%, but despite this fact both Brady and Brees are nearly identical in yards per attempt.

I also can't remember a season where Brees didn't have decent weapons on his team, even with San Diego he had the league's best TE and RB by his side (Gates & LT). Brady on the other hand spent his first 6 years as a starter in the league with average weapons at best. Not to mention Brees is way more prone to turnovers. 228 INTs for Brees compared to 162 for Brady.

INTs are still INTs, it's one of the reasons why you never see Favre get brought up in the GOAT convo.

Brees is gonna be 40 yrs old next season, if Brady suddenly falls off a cliff then Brees will be right behind him.

As ridiculous as the rings argument is in basketball itís even worse in football. Like he got better at football because the Seahawks didnít let Beastmode have the ball on the goal line....

Do the people talking about Bradys rings not realize he was better for that 10 years he didnít win than he was winning the first three?

He threw for 572 and 1 td the entire first Super Bowl run. 572 and 1 in three games combined.

He had 500+ and 3 in losing the last Super Bowl alone.

He won rings as a player trusted to do a lot less.

Bradys greatness showed best when he was given the team to really decide the outcome of games and the path of seasons.....and they lost for a decade.

Watching him, Peyton, and Elway win rings as lesser players than when they did most of their losing really should have taught people a lesson....

Except Brees has had more pro bowl linemen and wide receivers
