Seattle won't be able to keep them all within the cap rules

They won't be able to keep every single person, but they will be able to keep the key core guys around.

They're gonna let Sidney Rice go probably, saves a huge amount of money on the cap. Clemons is either going to be cut or have his deal restructured. Zach Miller same thing. Those guys are not key players, they're replaceable.

The tricky thing will be when Sherm & Russell get paid, but as long as they keep their core guys (which they can, with the way you can manipulate contracts base salary and an owner not afraid to cough up large lump sums of money).....you have to love their chances of being heavy contenders for a long, long time.

Earl Thomas and Russell Okung. They play for Seattle too you know. Tate and Baldwin free agents.

Their core guys were drafted late and played for peanuts. If they decide they want that money now which they are entitled to do. It'll cost. If they decide to take less, work with Seattle? Remains to be seen. NFL = not for long, as a player you really got to be careful giving a franchise leeway because in the end when you think you did a good deed and will/want to be rewarded? They will have a short memory.

Both Earl and Russell are under contract for next year.

Baldwin is a RFA, so they put a 2nd round tender on him. Nobody will sign him and pay that hefty price. He comes back on a qualifying offer. Tate is a UFA but with the amount of money they will save by cutting Sydney Rice, they will have more than enough to resign him if they choose.

So are Sherman and Wilson. Lost on your point? My point was clear, you said the tricky thing will be Sherm and Russ deals. I'm saying do not forget Earl Thomas best defensive player on the team and Okung the LT premium position player as well.

Carbine beat me to it.

We'll figure it out.

My main point is 2 things.

Obviously Schneider and Carroll have a knack for finding late round gems. We will continue that. And obviously there is something to Carroll's "program " that makes players compete and be better than they're "supposed to"

A SUPERBOWL victory only adds to the already enticing home for free agents.

Avril took less to come here. Bennet was a good deal. Well just keep plugging in. Keep our core players that deserve big money, and the equation of our progrAm will keep us contending for a long time.

And let's not forget , our core players are only going to get better.

I think the Seahawks are looking like a contender for the extended future for sure. They won't be able to keep all of their young guys but they will be able to retain a good bit of them and Pete Carroll has proven that he is good at evaluating talent and addressing needs through the draft.

I think a lot will depend on how good Russel Wilson becomes if they are going to be a dynasty. He will need to take a leap as a passer because I see the offense transitioning from the run to the pass as Lynch gets older and Wilson matures.

In addition to the possible cap hits, all it takes for a possible dynasty to never get untracked is a few injuries and the slightest bit of complacency setting in. How will they handle being the "hunted" as opposed to the "hunters?" This is something they can talk about handling until they are blue in the face, but they gotta go out and prove it. That remains to be seen.

When was the last time one of these defense first Superbowl teams even made the Superbowl again? This hype is getting ridiculous.

I think offensively they will do whatever it takes to re-sign Wilson, Lynch, Percy and Okung. Defensively, they'll build a foundation around Sherman, Thomas & Wagner. I don't see them keeping that entire secondary under contact; a guy like Kam will get a lot more money elsewhere. He's an all-pro safety, possibly top 5 in the league who's being overshadowed by Earl.

Ummmmmm.

Harvin and chancellor locked in for 4 and 5 more years.

Thomas and sherman only one more year left.

Don't see lynch having more than a couple more beast like years. I love him more than anyone, just how he runs, the running back shelf life is shrinking. He's signed through 2015. A steal for what he's been producing
