Default You youngens EMBRACED the collusion era. Don't say I didn't tell you so...

This is what happens when you let big babies get too much ego and too much money and big business takes over.

NBA Basketball may never recover or be the same again.

I hope you guys enjoy this watered down version of basketball. I myself will remember the times where players gave a shit about proper legacies, without having to skip steps to achieve them.

I'll still watch for the flash value, but TBH these cats don't play for legacies anymore. This is basically a shameless All Star getogether where a few teams has 90% of the talent.

the main reason guys "collude" is for their legacies. It's our fault and the media we put such a big emphasis on rings.

    So true

LeBron leaving his home team to join the top 2nd and 4th players in the league is what made most of these kids fans of the game

Now KD leaves to play with only 1 of the top 5 players of the game and they say it's unfair

    Very hypocritical

    The karma is real

Legacies are stupid to begin with. They play a child's game, and get paid lots of money for it. No one particularly cares in the long run. As long as you provide some entertainment now, and some shit I can bring up with mates occasionally, then you've done your job as a basketballer. I don't think I've ever discussed a players legacy, career or their ranking, EVER, when talking about basketball with friends. It isn't the players who are wrong, it is the fans and media, and how they view success in the league.

Charles Barkley and Karl Malone will be players I always consider some of the best ever, yet due to the "rings are everything" bullshit that has become so popular, these guys get smack talked about them as if they weren't champions.

Players now feel as if they have to team up to appease this ring talk, and get recognised as great. Michael Jordan could have won a single ring, and he still would have been one of the top 5 players ever if you really want to break down his impact on the court. Same with guys like Wilt, Shaq and Bron. It is blatantly obvious they play the game a level above everyone else and are in that top 5 bracket, regardless of how much they win.

So yeah, blame the fans. You can't sit here, have a conversation with me, tell me Kobe Bryant for example is rated higher than Shaq due to more rings, and not have any context in regards to Kobe putting up 15ppg on 37% shooting in one of those championship runs for example. You can't sit here and tell me, Jason Kidd's stock as a player went up when he won a ring in 2011, as if it undoubtably put him as a better PG than Payton, Nash or Stockton for example. It is still a debate.

Thats because you have a scrub mentality aka a loser. Once you become a star, legacy matters a lot. Thats why players would never dare collude. These guys want to be respected or else kobe wouldnt kick shaq out if rings is the only thing that matters

Lebron was unwillingly forced to decide where to be traded to and was given up on by his franchise for draft picks.
